Ok so you may be wondering why there is a cheese grater in this set of photos. I will explain all. Every so often something falls onto my balcony and its always exciting to find out what I am going to find next. I think this is my favourite 'gift from the sky'.
Matt and Rosie also came to visit as well as my best friend Laura. It has been amazing to have visitors and show them my life here. We went on a bus tour around the city which was a great way to get a overview of the city. I love hearing Matt and Rosie's and Laura's opinion of my new home. I think in some ways they are really surprised at how European a lot of it is. The colourful houses are an area called La Boca. It used to be very poor and essentially still is. The colours are because when people first built their house there they used to work on the big ships and used the ship paint to make the area more colourful. Most of the houses in the area are home-made by the community so not always the most beautiful- hence the paint
