Creatures and a'kritters

Getting soaking wet at the falls!

You can get so close to the falls that you get soaked. But on the days we were there it was 30 degrees and very humid so it was very refreshing

Iguazu falls- AT NIGHT!!!

We were lucky enough to visit when the moon was full. And on these days the Argentine Nature Reserve set up a walk to the falls which is only light by moonlight. It was incredible- I reckon there were only 100 of us on the walk and we were allowed in the park at 9.30 for a walk until 12. It was so stunning to see it with a different perspective. The falls looked so much bigger, scarier and you could really see the volume of the water whereas during the day it looks a lot prettier. The falls is in at the start of the jungle so you all get the noises of the jungle on the air which was amazing apart from walking with the mosquitoes. At last count I was up to 95 (Steve only had 1!!!)

Iguazu falls- Brazilian side

Then a day on the Brazilian side

Iguazu falls- Argentine side

For Steve's last weekend here we flew up for a whistle-stop tour of Iguazu falls. They were sadly missed off the 7 wonders of the world because there was only one waterfall allowed on there but I love this place and would put it at the top!

Kayaking with the Sea Lions

Steve and I went out for a morning kayaking to a colony of sea lions. It was incredible there would be a male with a harem on females. The females and pups were more adventurous and would swim up to our kayak and investigate and play around. They were also really funny when making noises. The females sounded like drunk sheep or donkeys and the males had a booming wail. The sea-lions walk like they are dogs on land which is also pretty funny to watch. We were able to have a relaxed kayak and the sea lions would come to us. We then stopped on a beach half-way through the trip for a mate and cake- very civilised!
