There is a settlement of penguins which come every year to nest. They come to the same nest every year. When we were there there was about 70,000 penguins but in the high season there are up to 1million penguins all in the same place. When we arrived the chicks had just been born. They were still fluffy and grey and still in the nest so the parents to take turns to go out and get food to bring back. We were able to get so close to them, we were obviously not allowed to interfere with them and had to let them pass when they wanted but they seemed pretty relaxed with tourists around.
